Operational Responsibilities (and other duties as may be assigned) 

  • Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales 

  • Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans 

  • Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately 

  • Has direct, but not exclusive responsibility for operational personnel hiring, promotions, reviews, termination and disciplinary actions 

  • Collaborates with upper management and staff to provide a healthy, challenging and positive work environment allowing for individual growth, achievement and accomplishment consistent with the company's objectives 

  • Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation 

  • Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws 

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships internally across all departments and functional areas, as well as externally with customers and key suppliers 

  • Ensures communications with foreign and domestic offices, Sales, department managers, upper management, and/or clients regarding quality service and related issues that affect our ability to meet the client's requirements 

  • Coordinates the operations for all departments, monitoring work flows and management of resources to ensure and verify timely and accurate operational processes 

  • Ensures quality system goals are consistently in focus and energies are directed to their achievement 

  • Collaborates with Sales and Operations teams to maximize the company's presence with the mutual goals of retaining all existing business and gaining significant new business 

  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities 

  • Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs 

  • Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly 

Business Development Responsibilities  

  • Daily coaching and management of sales activity (prospecting, Insightly activity, sales pipeline management, weekly sales meetings, budget creation, etc.) as outlined in the Laufer Sales Management Playbook page 

  • Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities 

  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company 

  • Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration 

  • Directly manage an assigned territory together with branch sales team and demonstrate extensive knowledge of potential customers and competitors in this area 

  • Timely data entry in our Customer Relationship Management tool 

  • Daily management of sales people activity, call volume/schedule, prospecting and results 

  • Participate in the creation of value-added solutions for customer’s logistics needs, including supporting diagrams and cost-benefit calculations 

  • Support the transition of new accounts through customer introductions, information transfer, and securing any necessary customer paperwork 

  • When needed, support AR (accounts receivable) collection 

  • Attend training & development sessions to continue developing selling skills and updating product and service knowledge 

  • Working knowledge of industry trends and forecasts 

Qualifications  

  • Proven branch management experience 

  • Sufficient knowledge of modern management techniques and best practices 

  • Ability to meet sales targets and production goals 

  • Familiarity with industry’s rules and regulations 

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Results driven and customer focused 

  • Leadership and human resources management skills 

  • High awareness of appropriate workplace etiquette and protocols 

People 

  • Allocate workloads within team to ensure smooth operations during peak activity 

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and educate colleagues 

  • Deliver training and onboarding for new hires per the company requirement standards 

  • Constantly communicate department goals and expectations with team to ensure buy-in and accountability 

  • Constantly looking to recruit new talent for all branch positions

Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
